Maybe you've got the key--retirement is several years off for me, but I'm looking forward to it. :)Babs Mountjoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03910576655068155166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-134119245431811847.post-58632863050727658432012-12-06T23:52:19.685-08:002012-12-06T23:52:19.685-08:00Enjoyed your post, Barbara, especially the honesty...Enjoyed your post, Barbara, especially the honesty of it, a real change. So many times one gets the feeling that the enthusiasm and joy expressed is "overdone". That people make themselves sound happy all the time because that's what's expected. Moaning, complaining not allowed!

Oh, I know, you don't moan or complain but you have a rather stressful life, brimming with activities, home, family, career, looking after kids - it sounds like a lot! Certainly retirement will bring relief to that kind of stress!

And I think that's the key: it's easier to juggle all your interests and commitments when you're retired (at least one chunk is out of the way!) Small wonder senior citizens have a rosier view on life! I know I do (I've been retired now since 2004) - I was close to burnout when I retired, and now, my view on life has changed and become decidedly optimistic...even if I think Xmas has become way too commercial for my taste...And I don't buy lottery tickets, never have, I just know I'll never win!
